Beatrice Joyner
ESOL Specialist


I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics with a concentration in Foreign Language Pedagogy through the University of Massachusetts in Boston. I graduated from Lee University in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science in Human Development (Early Childhood Education) and Elementary Education with minors in TESOL, Spanish, and Religion.


This is my sixth year as an ESOL teacher and my sixth year at East Lake Elementary.

In preparation for students to return to school after to COVID-19 quarantine, I participated in the REACH Summer program (2020).

I worked for the Read to Be Ready Summer Program here at East Lake Elementary in Summer 2018 and 2019.

I had to opportunity to teach fourth grade at East Brainerd Elementary with 21st Century in Summer 2017.

I was a substitute teacher in Palm Beach County, FL before coming to East Lake.

I taught English and Math in RazalPhilippines.


I was born and raised in a small town in South Florida. I moved to Tennessee to attend Lee University for college. After college, I received the opportunity to become an ESOL teacher here at East Lake Elementary.
