Three students from ELES win in the Young Southern Writers Contest

UTC and the Southern Literacy Alliance sponsored a Young Southern Writers Contest. There were over 4,000 entires and 250 winners from public, private, and homeschools were chosen from students in grades K-12. East Lake Elementary had three winners -- two from the first grade class of Mrs. Parsons and one from Mrs. Velo's 5th grade class. Congratulations to Abbigail Dollmont, Jalen Williams, and Kathy Velasquez! Their writings will be published on the alliance website soon.
